AñaVañA is a Rock / Reggae band from New York City. AñaVañA (pronounced onya-vonya) is a Rock / Reggae band from New York City. The group just signed an agreement with Zip Records, and their debut album is scheduled for release early June 2004. In February 2004 “ Taken Away”, one of the songs from AñaVañA’s debut CD, placed Second in the Song of the Month songwriting competition. In the same week “Colors Fading”, another song form AñaVañA’s debut, album took Second place in the Compo 10.com songwriting competition (song of the week 121), showing that not only do their fans enjoy their new CD, but so do the critics. The music of AñaVañA was nominated among the top songs of 2003 in the Billboard Song Contest and they also won a spot on the Windrift 2002 Compilation CD as finalists in The Windrift International Songwriting Contest. Aside from performing all original music, they have also written music for commercials, video companies and have had their music used in independent films. They have performed around the world, playing festivals, benefits, headlining their own shows, and have also played live and been interviewed on international radio and television stations. With their unique mix of musical styles, songwriting and musicianship AñaVañA separates themselves from the rest of the crowd. |
